Day 1
Upon arrival in Eskişehir, we will meet our private vehicle and head to Odunpazarı district, a UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List site that preserves its unique character with its colorful historical houses, narrow streets, museums, and mosques. Our first visit will be the Wax Museum, designed by Yılmaz Büyükerşen. This museum displays life-size sculptures of Turkish leaders and historical figures. We will have a conversation with our children about these historical figures after their observations. Following our visit to the Wax Museum, we will visit the Polimeks Modern Art Museum (OMM), designed by Kengo Kuma, one of the world's leading architects. After these visits, which we will conduct with a special art consultant, we will have free time for tea, coffee, and shopping in Odunpazarı Square. Following our museum visits, we will have lunch at the historic Abdüsselam Balaban Köfte, where we will enjoy the famous Tatar dish, Balaban köfte. After lunch, we will visit the Liberation Museum, located in the mansion used by İsmet İnönü during his visit to Eskişehir. In this museum, which depicts the years of the National Struggle, we will watch a short film prepared for child visitors. Afterwards, we will have free time among the colorful houses of Odunpazarı, where we will observe the production of meerschaum and listen to experts explain the importance of meerschaum. On our way back to the hotel, we will see the "Devrim Car," Türkiye's first domestically produced automobile, on display at the TÜLOMSAŞ factory. After our visits, we return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the 5-star Tasigo Thermal-Spa Hotel, the best located hotel in the region.
Day 2
After breakfast at our hotel, we will visit Kent Park, the second largest park in Eskişehir, where we will also see the artificial beach that Yılmaz Büyükerşen brought to Eskişehir. After visiting this important park, we will go down to the Porsuk River and take a boat trip, subject to availability. After our visit to the Porsuk River, we will set off towards the glass workshops, which are very important for Eskişehir.
Thanks to the significant contribution of Yılmaz Büyükerşen, and guided by instructors who are graduates of Anadolu University—a university that has produced world-renowned glass artists—children visit a glassblowing workshop, converse with our instructors who practice glass art, and participate in this interactive glassmaking activity with the instructors' observations. The workshop, lasting approximately one hour, is conducted with the guidance of instructors.
After some fun, we're heading to Sazova Park, one of the largest parks in Türkiye. This large park, built with the significant contribution of Yılmaz Büyükerşen, offers interactive storytelling sessions at the Fairy Tale Castle for children, as well as visual activities showcasing space and science at the Space House, a Pirate Ship, and the Sazova Park Aquarium.
Since Eskişehir is close to Nasreddin Hoca's village, we will see traces of Hoca, remember his humorous side, and introduce Nasreddin Hoca to our children.
After our enjoyable visits, we are concluding our trip and heading back to Istanbul.
